Review:
"The authors' writing style is excellent. I want to commend the author on capturing the joy and excitement of working with young children. The text is actually enjoyable to read. That's no small feat. Most early childhood education textbooks are dry and overly technical. This manuscript is user friendly and provides teachers will the knowledge and tools to create an effective child-directed environment." - Debby Everett, Early Childhood Education Instructor, Yuba College, California
"The depth of coverage is well-balanced between solid research-based information and encouragement to take the concepts beyond the text. I believe my students will embrace and internalize the tenets of the text and put them into practice in their classrooms." - Jorja Davis, Child Development Instructor, Blinn College, Texas
"Content and organization of materials is the STRENGH of the text. The author (Janice J. Beaty) does an excellent job with the overall design and organization of the text. Students will find this text both interesting in content and easy to follow. The preface offers the reader a good overview of the intent of the text. "IDEAS" for positive learning experience sets the tone of the book and the author reinforces the concept of DAP and also states that culturally appropriate activities must be considered." - Pamela Davis, Professor of Early Childhood and Director of the HSU Child Service Center, Henderson State University, Arkansas
