From School Library Journal:
Grade 6-12 The glitz and glitter of show business is, once again, the subject of a teen romance-style story. Valerie has had so many lessons, auditions, commercials and television shows to contend with that she hasn't had time for a "normal" life. When handsome Tom notices her, she is afraid to tell him about her "real" self, and consequently, when he finds out, the romance endstemporarily. Her father hasn't cared about her all these years, but he shows up claiming that was all a mistake. Her mother is a witch, but she changes, and Valerie gets a part in a television series (the star, of course), but she wants to go to college. The cliches are all intact, but the book is better written than most of the genre. Judie Porter, Media Services Center, Portsmouth School Department, R.I.
