By the time she was twenty-three, she'd visited eighteen countries and seen such wonders as the Louvre in Paris, the Parthenon in Athens, and London by taxi. While stationed in Great Britain, she became addicted to antiques, tea with milk and sugar, and any and all things English.

Settling in California after her tour of duty, Walker received a bachelor's degree in journalism after attending college intermittently for twelve years. The recipient of several awards, including a scholarship from the California Newspaper Publishers Association, she's been a copy editor and reporter covering everything from local government to pigeon racing.

As a starry-eyed single Christian woman, Laura longed to be swept off her feet by some tall, handsome, godly man who would propose to her sweetly on bended knee with a look of rapt adoration in his eyes (in some wildly romantic setting, of course!).
