About the Author:
Ms. Linda Hoyt currently works as a literacy specialist and consultant, providing in-services to teachers and school districts, presenting at major regional and national conferences and writing books and articles. She has written and collaborated on many publications, including Spotlight on Comprehension; Exploring Informational Texts: From Theory to Practice; Make It Real: Strategies for Success with Informational Texts; and Snapshots: Literacy Minilessons Up Close! Her writing has appeared in such publications as Young Children, Primary Voices and The Reading Teacher. She began her career as an elementary classroom teacher before turning her attention to other roles in her district in Oregon, including reading specialist, staff developer, curriculum specialist and Title I District Coordinator.
