Saluso's Game: An Exotic Holiday Turns into a Stuggle for Survival (Ben Sylvester Mystery) - Softcover

Ben Sylvester, an agent for a CIA-like organization called Libertec, which helps establish new democratic governments in struggling Third World countries, is off on a mysterious mission to the small country of Mtobe in West Africa. When he arrives there, Ben discovers that the president of the country, Saluso, is really a power-hungry despot who wants to play the people of Mtobe against one another in a bloody civil war. As he begins to investigate the situation, Ben is caught up in a web of conspiracy and deceit that threatens his life. Stereotypical and one-dimensional characters diminish the power of Badke's (Search, Questar, 1995) otherwise engaging mystery story. Worth considering, but not a necessary purchase.
