Starting with minicomics, Landry Walker has been working in the industry since 1991. He was a co-founder of a small press collective called Puppy Toss, and helped produce and distribute an anthology series called Skim Lizard. Walker spent several years writing creator-owned, original comics for Disney Adventures Magazine--most notably a monster series called The Super Scary Monster Show—Featuring Little Gloomy. Walker wrote several BATMAN comics, co-wrote the Incredibles comic series with Mark Waid, co-wrote an original graphic novel called Odd Thomas with Dean Koontz, and worked in Paris developing Little Gloomy into the internationally distributed television series called Scary Larry. He also wrote for Marvel Super Heroes magazines and has written Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, a book sequel to Frozen and co-created and wrote a comic series for Image called Danger Club.

Gr 3–6—When Supergirl's spaceship slams into Earth and destroys the evil Lex Luthor's destructive robot, she has no idea where she is and no clue about how to get home. Luckily, she meets up with her heroic cousin, Superman, and tries to get a handle on the superpowers that she has now that she's on Earth. Supergirl goes undercover as Linda Lee at Stanhope Boarding School, but when she gets there, she's met with some nasty surprises: school is boring, everyone laughs at her, and she has an evil alter ego. Thankfully, as Linda, she makes a friend in Lena Thorul, but Lena is not who she seems. This is a lighthearted and breezy read. Trying to figure out how exactly Supergirl's powers work or character motivation is an exercise in futility, but that's no reason to dismiss the series. While the comic book is light on content, Supergirl is a fun heroine who is powerful in her own right.
