This book is my exploration over the course of some 50 years of life. During that time, much of it spent becoming and being an Artist, I have come to know the Soul, and I have come to understand that the journey of the Artist is the discovery of the Soul. Finding, facing, and knowing your own Soul is the ultimate purpose in life. This is the foundation of all my teachings, be it through painting, writing, or simply living life. Learning to see with your Heart s Soul, as an Artist, is the result of a long transformation, an evolution from a business life to a creative life. After years of developing and practicing the medium of painting, I now share the path to the heart through the Soul. I am able to communicate the range of feeling and seeing that I experience day by day, both in my artwork and in my life.

From the Author:
My Spiritual paintings are primarily about the Mandala, which is an ancient symbol, primarily from the East. Mandala means sacred ground, sacred temple, and sacred architecture. The process of painting mandalas brought my eyes and opening heart together to a new, richer way of seeing. The center of the Mandala is located in the center of our hearts. The Mandala is a powerful teacher, teaching us about our Heart Center (Anahata). Painting Mandalas symbolically creates the journey of enlightenment. Walking the great Labyrinth Mandala at the cathedral of Chartes, south of Paris, one moves to the center. Circling the great stupa (also a Mandala) at Bodhinath, Nepal is the same as painting a Mandala. The Mandala is a centering and balancing image. (added by author)
From the Back Cover:
"One Look into the eyes of the deities which Paul Heussenstamm paints, and you'll see the pure essence of divine light and love radiating through."
- Doreen Virtue, author of "Solomon's Angels"

"From Hindu, Buddhist, Native American, Aboriginal to Christian the deity figures Paul has transferred to canvas symbolize the transcendental qualities of the Ineffable, and the metaphysical principles from which the Universe has emerged."
-Dr. Rev. Michael Beckwith, Founder of Agape International Spiritual Center

"The truth is changing and Paul's new deities reflect that truth. They're fantastic."
- Lama Surya Das, author of "Buddha Is As Buddha Does"

"A rare combination of contemporary visionary iconography and an integration of ancient sacred art traditions, Paul Heussenstamm's mandalas illuminate a universal spirituality that embraces all traditions."
- Alex Grey, author of "Transfigurations"

"In our culture we speak of those individuals who are inspired beyond the ordinary as masters. Paul is an unfolding master."
- Brugh Joy, author of "Joy's Way" and "Avalanche"

"Paul's paintings inspire us to remember we are beings of fire, earth, water, and air. And beyond that: orgasmic beings who ride the waves of bliss."
- Margot Anand, author of "The Art of Every Day Ecstasy"

"In history there have been legends from many plces and times about a 'Hermetic Circle' of people. These peoples are very few and drawn from all levels of society, and all ages; and though their number is few, hold the safety of mankind in their hands. These are the conscious few who are the hope of mankind. Paul's life is of this nature."
- Robert Johnson, author of "Balancing Heaven and Earth"

"Paul's art is meditative art that soothes the soul which follows the ancient connection between art and spirituality. Meditative art is again being used as a source of tranquility."
-Art Business News (added by author)
