Authentic Text Established from the Composer's Autographs in the British Museum by Andre Mangeot. Believed to be the First Edition in this folder format, published by G. Schirmer, Inc., New York, 1942. Large & heavy item. PLEASE NOTE: As this book is heavy (over 1 Kg with packaging), if you are buying this from outside the U.K. please expect additional shipping costs. The folder consists of brown paper-covered front & back boards with a strong black ribbon tie on either side by the outer edges, black cloth spine joining the front & back covers. Brown lettering & decoration on front cover. Inside are 4 loose books of sheet music (one for each instrument), these are bound by 2 staples. Dimensions of folder: Folio, 31 cm x 23.3 cm x 2.1 cm when books are inside. Each sheet music book inside is 29.8 cm x 23 cm x 0.4 cm. Weight: 988 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! However, there is some outer wear to folder: Spine is discoloured, scuffed & slightly marked, bumped, faded & scuffed either end, cloth is rippled. Front & back covers have some damage on edges & corners where paper is split & worn away and boards are exposed, both side are scuffed & slightly marked, few scratches and name stamp & small ink annotation on front cover, tie ribbons slightly frayed. Sheet music booklets inside are in great shape, but the 'Violin I' booklet is more age tanned than the other 3, and its title page is slightly marked. For all booklets: Staples are rusty but binding is tight. Previous owner's name stamp on all title pages. Some pages (very few) have tiny edge bumps, and/or corner folds, and/or light handling creases. Light age tanning & very rare foxing throughout. 'Violin I' booklet: pages 12 to 17 have small colour pencil annotations, some pages have remnants of pencil annotation among sheet music. VERY RARE SHEET MUSIC, EXCELLENT CLEAN CONDITION INSIDE!!! Ten Quartets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 4 booklets of sheet music, one for each instrument: 2 Violins, a Viola, and a Violoncello. The 'Violin I' booklet also contains List of Contents, Publisher's Preface, and the Editor Andre Mangeot's Introduction.
