Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. The interior of the book is clean and tight, showing just a few signs of previous use. The green covers are clean, with just a bit of light wear at edges and corners. The dust jacket is price-clipped, and is overall in Good condition, with light wear overall and somewhat heavier wear to the top and bottom of the spine. The worst problems are a darkened spine, a short (1") closed tear along the top fold, and a small nick of paper missing from the top edge of the back panel. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. Synopsis: "Spain in the Peninsular War. Oliver Crowe of the 111th Regiment of Foot, and Mistress Polly, Sergeant Trott's irrepressible daughter, find themselves besieged, with the rest of Fairclough's company, in the fortified town of Albencia. Provisions are running low and the garrison can be saved only by getting word out to the Regiment. . It is Polly and Oliver who undertake the perilous mission. But getting out of Albencia and through the French lines is only the beginning of their troubles.".
