Heredera y renovadora -pero también profundamente crítica- del movimiento L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E, la poesía de Fitterman parece sustentarse en la relación entre la lengua vernácula y las tendencias poéticas de vanguardia. Sería redundante destacar el aspecto experimental de su trabajo: cada libro suyo es un experimento. En el poema extenso que ahora nos ocupa la tensión entre el concepto que lo genera y el sujeto que sirve para animarlo ha sido llevada al extremo; una sabia dosificación de humor y pathos alivia en ciertos momentos esta tensión. El tema es decididamente no posmoderno e incluso humanista: la soledad del individuo en medio de la muchedumbre urbana de este principio de siglo. El método: utilizar exclusivamente citas provenientes del ciberespacio -fragmentos de blogs, tweets, sms- y arreglarlos en la página según una métrica determinada; en este caso, la calcada del poema de [ames Schuyler, The Morning of the Poem. El sujeto es un "yo" virtual que podría hacer pensar en la antítesis de Walt Whitman. ("No, un momento. Ajá. Sin duda me odio todavía mí mismo" no es en absoluto un poema autobiográfico.) El resultado es un viaje alucinatorio por una montaña rusa en forma de espiral durante el que -entre risas a veces un poco nerviosas- nos vamos acercando al último círculo de uno de los grandiosos y espectaculares infiernos que han creado las pululantes generaciones de los hombres.
