Heavy crack at title page, with front board pulled for the text block and held by just binding netting. Text block is very shaky. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Cloth has minor damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Card panels have mild rubbing with minor pencil mark to front cover. Minor fraying to cloth at spine ends.

This is a thick, squat format and has become shelf-cocked, with slight damage to hinge which has made boards loose. The end papers - which feature maps - are a little tanned.Very tanned cut edges. The text block is loose, with small tear from tail edges of front and back. The pages are not tanned and feature coloured maps, b/w photos, figures and fold-out maps and marks of rank. Prize plate opposite title page. No dedications. The Notes pages at rear have 'Additional Allied Losses' etc listed in ink. Good plus condition. No jacket.
